Мeasurement of refraction and indicators of keratometry (or corneal curvature) of the eye, checking visual acuity, corneal and pupil diameter, non-contact measurement of intraocular pressure, keratotopography of the anterior and posterior surface of the cornea with simultaneous non-contact pachymetry (measurement of corneal thickness), examination of the fundus (retina, optic nerve) and vessels) and measuring the size of the eye. Retinal tomography (OCT) is also performed on doctor's orders. Based on the results of the diagnostics, the doctor will look at you give you advise, prescribe treatment and give a conclusion.

Can children do LVC?

Laser vision correction/ laser eye surgery for children is contraindicated due to the fact that the eyes of children are not yet formed in full, and a change in refraction may be observed. Laser vision correction eliminates current vision problems. Due to changes in the size of the eye, vision problems may reappear. Therefore, the correction is carried out after 18 years old.

At what age can you do LVC?

Laser vision correction/ laser eye surgery can be done over the age of 18

What tests are needed for LVC?

Hepatitis B and C, HIV

Are there any negative cases after LVC?

Like any other surgery, LVC has risks. But the frequency of their occurrence is quite rare and reversible, that is, it can be eliminated by additional correction or additional treatment. Doctors will tell you in detail about the risks, based on your individual data

Can minus be cured without surgery? Do vitamins, eye drops, Zhdanov and Norbekov's exercise technique, etc. help?

There are no similar methods with proven effectiveness in world practice. There are methods of optical correction - glasses and lenses and permanent correction - laser vision correction, implantation of phakic lenses, multifocal IOLs

Is the procedure painful?

Patients tolerate the procedure very well. There is no pain, it may be slightly uncomfortable during the procedure itself and for a few hours afterwards. For example, after PRK, moderate pain is slightly longer (2-3 days)

Is there an appointment or a first-come-first-served basis

Visits are strictly by appointment only.

What is the difference between Femto LASIK and LASIK methods?

The difference is in the method of creating a corneal flap. During LASIK procedure the flap is created using a mechanical microkeratome, in the case of FemtoLASIK the flap is created with a special additional laser device - a femtosecond laser. Accordingly, FemtoLASIK is a more modern, accurate and safe laser eye surgery method, and also has wider indications for implementation.

Will I have perfect vision?

The quality of vision depends on your individual initial parameters. We intend to achieve at least the level of vision in your best glasses or lenses, but without them. A higher result is possible, but each case is individual.

Why laser eye surgery is contraindicated to persons over 45?

In a person over the age of 40 after laser eye surgery, the aspect of myopia will also depend on plus reading glasses - i.e. near vision will deteriorate immediately after surgery. This is not a complication of laser correction, it is a physiological age-related change and is called “Presbyopia”. In such situations, implantation of multifocal IOLs is more preferable, which provides good vision at all distances.

Who is not recommended LVC?

People under 18 years of age, patients with various severe eye diseases, such as severe cataracts, glaucoma, diseases of the retina, cornea, as well as some systemic diseases

If the cornea is thin, which method should be applied?

For thin corneas, we recommend you the laser treatments as follows: Transepithelial PRK or StreamLight™ T-PRK No-Touch. If the cornea is thin, but the degree of myopia is high, then a safer approach is the implantation of phakic lenses.

Does the laser burn through the eyes?

This is impossible. The whole procedure from start to end is regulated and automated, and the laser does not heat up the cornea at all.

Will I go blind after LVC?

The treatment proposed to you is one of the safest eye surgeries. The risks described in the scientific literature are extremely minimal and do not lead to blindness/deterioration. The rare problems that do occur in practice are solved by free additional surgical manipulation and/or active treatment. Blindness is not possible. No such cases have ever been reported in the history of vision correction

What time of year is it best to do the LVC?

Seasonality for the operation does not matter, except seasonal half-linosis - allergies, if you have any.

Is result permanent and stable?

The statistics show an extremely high level of consistency in the results achieved

How often can the LCP be done?

Only once in a lifetime, in rare cases extracorrection is done when two-stage laser correction is planned

The other clinic gave me a guarantee. Why don't you?

This is manipulation and distortion. Our clinic takes a transparent approach to informing patients. That is why you will read and sign an Informed Consent to surgery, where all currently known risks and complications in this field of ophthalmosurgery and their approximate frequency are outlined quite openly before the operation. For our part, we do our best to minimise the likelihood of possible problems, including strict adherence to all treatment protocols, continuous professional development, and we consider ourselves to be national market leaders in the provision of medical services in this field, particularly in terms of technological equipment.

What guarantees do you offer?

With each of our surgeries we confirm the prognoses made - this is the more medically correct approach. The guarantees also include the possibility of receiving free monitoring for one to three months, depending on the type of surgery. In cases where it is necessary. We do not play with words - we can guarantee quality work.

Is it possible to have an LVC during the breastfeeding?

Yes, it is, except for the PRK technique of phakic IOL implantation.

Can LVC be done during pregnancy?

Surgery can only be carried out after delivery

Is it possible to give birth after LVC?

Laser correction has no effect at all on the course of pregnancy and labour. You can give birth on your own.

Is LVC better done before the birth or afterwards?

There is no difference. Childbirth and pregnancy do not affect the results of the surgery.

I have strabismus, can I have an LVC?

Yes, strabismus is usually caused by refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism) and we recommend to correct the cause of the strabismus first. If necessary, strabismus is corrected as a second step after laser vision correction

Who can't have an LVC?

People under 18, patients with various severe eye diseases, such as severe cataract, glaucoma, diseases of the retina, cornea, changes due to diabetes mellitus

I was refused a LVC, what should I do?

Unfortunately, not everyone can undergo vision correction; there are certain contraindications. If you are in the list of the people who are contraindicated to LVC, there are other alternatives such as phakic lens implantation or lens replacement

Do you have an instalment plan?

Yes, at our clinic you can pay for all types of surgery in instalments through 3 banks: Halyk Bank, Bai-Tushum Bank and Demir Bank

I was diagnosed a retinal detachment. What should I do?

If a retinal detachment has occurred, you should see an ophthalmologist immediately, as delaying it can risk blindness. Usually a detached retina is treated surgically. Only an ophthalmologist may prescribe you a treatment after thorough examination.

How can cataracts be cured?

The only effective treatment is Ultrasound cataract phacoemulsification (UCP), a surgical procedure that replaces the cloudy lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL)

Can cataract surgery be performed on diabetes?

The disease itself is not a contraindication to surgery, surgery can get rid of cataracts, but it can only be performed if there are no contraindications. For a more in-depth consultation, you should undergo a full physical examination and doctor's examination

How long does cataract surgery take?

The average surgery period is 10-15 minutes for both eyes, including lens replacement.

They say that if cataracts are not operated on, glaucoma can develop. Is this true?

In the advanced stage of cataract, the swollen lens begins to occupy most of the anterior chamber of the eye. The outflow of intraocular fluid becomes abnormal, which can lead to secondary glaucoma. This is very dangerous, because without surgical treatment, vision is irretrievably lost.

Can cataracts be cured with medication?

Unfortunately, no.

How long will it take me to recover from cataract surgery?

The recovery period of visual function is minimal, and full recovery of the eye after surgery and a return to a normal rhythm of life is possible within 10-14 days. Visual quality after surgery depends on the type of intraocular lens (IOL) implanted.

What are the restrictions after surgery? (cataract)

The following restrictions are temporarily in place after undergoing lens replacement surgery: going to the bath or swimming pool, doing hard labour, bending sharply, etc. Details about the regimen and restrictions are explained before the operation and after the operation.

What tests are needed for cataracts?

• Complete blood count • Blood glucose • Urinalysis • Blood test for RW • Blood test for HIV • Blood for Hepatitis B virus antigen (HbsAg) • Blood for Hepatitis C virus antigen (anti-HCV) • PTI, INR, APTT • ECG film with interpretation • An opinion from a general practitioner or cardiologist that there are no contraindications to surgical treatment, seal!!! • Chest X-ray with interpretation

Why is it more expensive than other clinics? (or cheaper)

Other clinics not only have different prices, but also different taxation policies for medical services. In addition, the final cost depends on the equipment and consumables used for the operation. You can save money on this, but we aim to use the best equipment and quality, disposable consumables.

How is your clinic different from others in the city?

Our equipment is in many ways technologically ahead of the world’s leading clinics, as is the level of surgical activity higher than in clinics in other countries. Our doctors not only regularly participate in scientific and international conferences, but are also speakers at them.

I see floaters/spots. What should I do, where should I go?

You should have a specialised examination at our centre. We have modern equipment. The examination takes about 1.5 hours. The doctor will give you an accurate diagnosis and prescribe the necessary treatment.

Why should I have the operation with you?

There are several reasons for this: we have modern equipment at the world level, many of them have no analogues in the Kyrgyz Republic. We employ highly qualified specialists with extensive experience, including those from Kazakhstan and Russia. We have extensive experience in performing ophthalmic operations, more than 12,000 procedures during the operation of our clinic.

What equipment is used for the operation?

We use the most modern equipment from leading manufacturers in the world: Alcon (Germany/USA)

I see spots. What's this?

Floaters of different shapes and sizes can be a sign of problems with the retina. It is necessary to undergo an examination in our center, after which the doctor will prescribe the necessary treatment.

What are the age limits for using night lenses?

There are some. Orthokeratology or night lenses can be used by adults and children above 6.

Can orthokeratology lenses cure myopia?

Unfortunately not, but it is possible to stop its development.

I was assigned to strengthen the retina, I want to first improve my vision, and then strengthen it, is it possible?

First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the retina to delimit the zones of peripheral retinal dystrophy with a laser in order to minimize the risk of loss of vision from retinal detachment. And only then you can perform the procedure to improve your vision. In other words, it will not work to break the order of actions.

After the operation, I saw better and clearer. I think it’s worse now.

Yes, there is a similar effect. Immediately after the operation, due to initially poor vision, the brain is sensitive to the “new” good vision. Over time, this sense in some people is somewhat dulled and there is a feeling that the vision allegedly “worsened”, although when unbiased examination, it corresponds to high – “normal” indicators.

After LVC left eye sees better than the right or veci versa. When I compare the vision of the left and right eye I see the difference

Vision is generally characterized by binoculatity and etcetera. Vision is the result of the work of both eyes. A littel defferebnce in the vision of each eye individually happens, regardless of the operation. Usually we do not notice this habitual difference, but after the operation, the difference becomes noticeable, especially if you look for it purposefully. After the operation, both the eye muscles and the visual analyzer must get used to the new vision, so give yourself time and try not to compare the vision between the left and right eye, just use the new vision. In this way, good vision will become a new familiar reality for you, and the difference will become invisible. Also come to the diagnostics, then we can objectively evaluate the parameters of the eye and make sure that everything is really ok.
